Male Sa’u sings the Blues.
Japans Male Sa’u is anything but blue at the moment, especially after signing a one year contract for Auckland based Super League rugby side Blues.
28 year old Sa’u’s performance in the 2015 World Cup for Japan made in an easy choice for the Blues.
Male is joining a youngish team, so his performance in the successful World Cup campaign for Japan will go a long way to helping Tana Umaga bring some experience to the team.
Head Coach Tana Umaga said “We’re thrilled to have Male join us. He’s a strong runner to the line and is now an experienced player at international level.
“Male showed at the World Cup that he is a strong and combative player. He can also play in a number of positions in the backline, which is invaluable”.
